Besides playing and creating (new) music, Robbrecht is passionate about music theater and opera. As a bayanist he played in the operas valjean - Compagnie Théâtre d'Art (Perpignan, France)  and Die Zauberflöte, Orfeo and Passio - Operagroep The Fat Lady (Haarlem). Together with sopranos Lisalotte Gerards and Fee de Ruiter, he made a pocket opera for Salone dell'Opera.

In the season '19-'20, Robbrecht performed in Zwijnenstal (a production of de Nederlandse Reisopera in co-production with theater Sonnevanck) which was awarded with a Zilveren Krekel for most impressive production for youth. The following season he created a children's performance for the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, together with Coraline Groen, Lucas van der Vegt and Valentina Tóth. In season '21-'22 he made his appearance in productions of Festival dag in de Branding, Oorkaan, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and Holland Opera.

The passion for music goes beyond playing. From a profound interest in broadening his knowledge and approaching music in a more scientific way, Robbrecht decided to study musicology at the Catholic University of Leuven. In the meantime, he has completed his bachelor's degree with great distinction. An internship at the artistic department of the Amsterdam Concertgebouworkest made part of his studies.

His research topics include the history of the harmonium as well as the music of Sofia Gubaidulina. In addition, Robbrecht wrote a short biography about the composer Mieczysław Weinberg for the Royal Academy of Music in London. In October 2022, he was the head of programming for the British Music Festival in The Hague

At the age of 18, Robbrecht gave his first accordion lessons at the Brussels Academy for music, theatre and dance. Since then he has enjoyed teaching accordion at the academies of Ghent, Ninove,  Waregem, Ronse and the conservatories of Bruges and Mechelen.

Robbrecht is regularly invited as a jury member for accordion exams in Belgium.

He obtained his degree Educational Master in the Performing Arts at the Conservatory of Ghent with greatest distinction.

Following his internship at the Concertgebouworkest, he then joined the institute's Education Department as a freelancer. Robbrecht currently works as coördinator for the Education Department of Oorkaan.
