Robbrecht Van Cauwenberghe is regarded as one of the best young bayan players of his generation. As an active chamber musician he is frequently heard on national and international stages, e.g. Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Wien, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Bachfestival Dordrecht, Ghent Festival van Vlaanderen, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht as well as in many Dutch concert halls and theatres. Robbrecht made his debut as a soloist with the Stift Festival Orchestra playing Gubaidulina’s double concerto Sieben Worte for cello and bayan.
As a music theater performer, he played in productions of de Nederlandse Reisopera, Theater Sonnevanck, Festival Dag in de Branding & Holland Opera. In 2021 he became a member of the Amsterdam-based Oorkaan Ensemble.
Robbrecht regularly performs for radio and television, e.g. a one-week residence in “Opium” (NPO Radio 4), the 2022 Avrotros Lenteconcert (NPO 2) as well as the TV-show Podium Witteman (NPO 2), where he was invited as “Young Hero”.
